About ME

William Beach is a performer and music educator based in Raleigh, NC. His artistic purview spans from innovative new works for low brass to classic idioms in the repertoire – primarily, he plays tuba, euphonium, and trombone. Though  his primary academic training is in music performance, he holds degrees in music education and instrumental conducting. He is currently the Professor of Low Brass and Assistant Conductor at Campbell University, as well as principal tuba at Wilmington Symphony and tubist in Degrees of Brass.

Dr. Beach has teaching experience with all ages and many of his students have gone on to successful endeavors in their fields. His students commonly place in All-State auditions, and several have gone on to win awards for their performances.

Dr. Beach lives in Fuquay Varina with his wife and two dogs, and frequently performs with professional groups in the NC area and beyond. He has conducted with the Campbell University Wind Ensemble, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Wind Ensemble, NC All-County Bands, university brass ensembles, and conference engagements such as those at North Carolina Music Educator’s Association and the International Tuba Euphonium Association Conference. He was also a semi-finalist for the 2020 Leonard Falcone Tuba/Euphonium competition.
